Frutigen – Sattel, Switzerland

Miles: 170

Something happened, just when everything seemed to be great, the breakfast was ready and the sun was just starting to raise over the mountains. A loud draining noise was there, that definitely meant something bad. Until we realised what happened, already ¼ gallon of water was spread over the floor of the van. 1 hour later everything was good again. Responsible for the leakage was a bad pipe clamp and a hose got off the pressure accumulator!

Quite sad we said good bye to our family and we took off towards central Switzerland, where we found a cozy place on a parking lot of a mountain ropeway.

Sattel – St. Gallen, Switzerland

driven: 90

After a silent night, we met Felix (old working buddy) with his girlfriend and parents for a pleasant breakfast. In the middle of the nature. While we were eating our fried eggs we could spot a deer that was running towards the woods just 600 feet away. Continuing our trip, the most unlikely thing happened and we ran into a speeding trap from the police with our slow van.

We continued to Winterthur to get some more travel accessories like frying pans, adapters for filling up LPG Gas, or hiking pants…

We spent the night close to a sporting area near a forest just before the city of St. Gallen.

St. Gallen – St. Gallen, Switzerland

Miles: 10

Today’s goal: Covid test for the border crossing into Austria. First thing’s first, we were negative. Since we had no interest of paying 300$ for an official “travel-covid-test”, we simply took a quick test. At the same hospital where we made the tests, Maryse also had to flush an ear, since it was completely blocked.
